ANGIE and JOHN are the organisers of the HUNGRY HORSE FOLK CLUB and the Directors of the WIRRAL FOLK ON THE COAST FESTIVAL.    Next year - 7th to 10th June 2012 will see the festival holding its 8th in the sequence. Full details at - http://www.wirralfolkonthecoast.com/  or have a look at the festival page on this website.  They are also part of the club's resident band VOCAL POINT along with Sue Farley, John's sister.   Sue and John are the 'voices' with Angie playing 'mean' bodhran (Irish drum) and other 'noisey instruments'.

Marie website photo (Small)_0.jpg

MARIE is a stalwart of the local folk scene.   A lovely Irish lady who loves to sing a capella traditional songs.   Marie has a wicked sense of humour and must be the best maker in the whole world of cakes, marmalade and jams.   Marie's bara brith and lemon drizzle cake are to die for and are always chosen first by raffle prize winners.

John & Carole HHFC (Small).jpg

JOHN and CAROLE are a lovely couple that live near Mold, North Wales in the village of Treuddyn. John comes from a rock music background and is probably THE most enthusiastic fan of the folk/pop icon Donovan. Ask John to sing any Donovan song and he can step in 'no problem at all'. John is fast becoming a prolific singer/songwriter in his own right and regularly gives an airing to his latest compositions at the club's brilliant Singers & Musicians Nights. Carole is a beautiful person that keeps John in check and is the love of his life.

PAT KERR_0.jpg

PAT is an essential member of the team who helps out mainly on the special guest concert nights. You will usually find Pat on the door meeting and greeting everyone with her beautiful smile encouraging patrons to take part in the club raffle. She is also an integral member of the Wirral Folk on the Coast festival committee. Pat is a lover of all types of music from classical through folk to bluegrass and even her favourite, Steve Earle.

John Williams_0.JPG

JOHN is a singer/musician and now songwriter who earlier in 2011 recently 'found again' the glories of folk and acoustic music.    When making a restaurant visit to our previous club venue at Little Stanney, John and his wife discovered our folk club upstairs.    As the club has developed in size and popularity (and moved to our present venue last July), the organisers have found it necessary to increase the number of helpers.     John needed no pursuading then when he was invited to join the 'gang'.    His enthusiasm and that of his lovely wife Svetlana typifies all that is good about the Hungry Horse Folk Club.
